FUN AT THE PARC

Center Parcs – everyone raves about it, yet for a weekend away with the family, its not the cheapest option for a short break. UK Family went to discover what all the hype is about.

We arrived at the Longleat park at 6.00pm on a Friday night, initially disheartened at the massive queue however Center Parcs had it covered and within 10 minutes we were in our lodge.

The lodges are very well equipped and generous for a holiday home. They are warm and cosy with everything you need to make sure your stay is comfortable.

Making our way from the lodge to the Plaza, it struck me just how big Center Parcs is. Even at the end of January, the park was at full capacity yet walking around the site, there is no feeling of crowding. We had a packed, fun filled visit. On the Saturday, whilst I was relaxing at Aqua Sauna (this alone is worth a visit), the two younger guests in our party were entertained in the Activity Den with chocolate craft and face painting (for guests under 7), my daughter and husband took an archery lesson. We spent a few fun filled hours in the Jardin Du Sports and on the massive outdoor play areas before heading back towards the swimming pool. After an hour throwing ourselves down the flumes in the pool, we made it back to the lodge for a quick change before heading back out to the Jardin Du Sports area for dinner.

Getting around Center Parcs for us, was the biggest challenge. Initially we we took the childrens scooters and thought we would rely on the land train, however half way through the first day, we ditched the scooters and hired bikes which made getting around much easier. Having said that, Center Parcs is built on a very steep hill so cycling is not for the faint hearted.

Centre Parcs is great fun for people of all ages, although consider getting around and location when booking with young children or with people with disabilities. There is a varied choice of restaurants – catering for all tastes however for those on a budget, it’s worth planning in advance as eating and drinking out can be a little price.

All in all, we loved Center Parcs and despite the steep hills,we will definitely be returning!
